While in Jibjibe, you will enjoy stunning views on the valley, meet locals and discover their lifestyle, their traditions and their food. The perfect opportunity to get a glimpse of real farmers life!
Jibjibe village is located in Rasuwa District, just south of Langtang National Park. This is the home village of Hari Krishna Devkota, the founder of High Himalayan Trekking and Expeditions and our sister charity High Himalayan Community Project Nepal (HHCPN). The village is approximately 5-6 hours away from Kathmandu and 1 hour from Syafrubesi, the typical start of Langtang trekking. Jibjibe village looks out over a large valley and is surrounded by beautiful hills and mountains. During this village tour, you can visit the local hospital and various schools that HHCPN supports. Come visit families that have recently received goat or pig sponsorship and meet the many porters that we help. You can stay with Hari’s family, who are very used to volunteers and travelers coming to visit, or stay with one of the other local families.
Taste delicious buffalo milk and yogurt, fresh from the family buffalo and delicious Nepali meals made fresh from the fields. This exciting experience will allow you to understand fascinating Buddhist and Hindu culture and region as well as the hard working lifestyle of Nepali farmers. This homestay can take place at the beginning or end of your trek in Langtang or on its own.
